President Donald Trump has announced Amy Coney Barrett as his Supreme Court nominee, following the recent passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Barett serves on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, previously clerking for former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. She, like Scalia, is likely to bring a staunchly conservative presence to the Supreme Court, widely regarded as an opponent to abortion and supporter of the Second Amendment.
